                            Class Syllabus

We write an essay every week based upon WASL-like prompts. In addition, the students must complete at least one computer applications project weekly.

Computer applications introduced this year will include:

  • The creation of an identity or business card.

  • How to create a two column newsletter.

  • Survey taking and the interpretation of data put into tables.

  • How to set up and use an Excel grade sheet.

  • Basic Excel formulas and charting.

  • Net pay and the use of Excel to develop a monthly budget.

  • How to use Power Point to develop a slide show resume’.

  • The use of Publisher to create a flyer.

  • Resume‛ basics in Word and Powerpoint.

  • Business and personal letter writing formats.

  • How to scan and use a digital camera.

  • Printing options.

  • Internet surfing for information and graphics.

  • Test-taking techniques and how to beat test anxiety.

  • Word Resume‛ writing.

  • Data sorting and compilation.

  • Basic HTML language used in web designs.

  • Graphics and photo enhancement using Photoshop.

  • Animation used on web pages.

  • Essay and  research project that uses computer applications and the Internet to create a Native American Sovereign Nation.
