II.                  SUMMARY OF ASSIGNMENT

This position will team teach a video and television program.  This individual will introduce students to the skill of Video Productions through implementing appropriate curriculum; documenting teaching and student progress/activities/outcomes, developing lesson plans; modeling the necessary skills to perform assigned tasks; addressing specific educational needs of students; providing a safe and optimal learning environment and providing feedback to students, parents and administration regarding student progress, expectations, goals, etc.

 

III.               RESPONSIBILITES

                       

A.      Essential Functions/Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

 

1)       Ability to teach the technical side of video producing.

 

2)       Communicates clearly in working with diverse teaching populations, both orally and in writing.

 

3)       Prepares lessons/activities prior to the start of each class.

 

4)       Regularly communicates with parents and/or guardians through conferences and other means to discuss student progress.

 

5)       Identifies student needs and cooperates with other professional staff members in assessing and helping students solve health, attitude, and learning problems

 

6)       Maintains professional competence through in-service education activities provided by the district, and self-selected professional growth activities.

 

7)       Supervises students in and out-of-classroom activities during the assigned workday.

 

8)       Participates in curriculum development programs as required.

 

9)       Participates in faculty committees and the sponsorship of student activities.

 

10)   Works effectively with para-educators and other staff members.

 

11)   Conducts high school news research for curriculum development.

 

12)   Conducts equipment research and makes proposals to administration for selection.

 

13)   Designs schematics for computers and video systems.

 

14)   Installs and maintains all systems.

 

15)   Teaches operation of equipment to students.

16)   Works to improve on set and graphic design looks.

 

17)   Directs daily news show during live to tape productions.

 

18)   Available for after school student projects and productions.

 

19)   Performs other duties as assigned.

 

 

The functions listed above are not exhaustive and may be supplemented as necessary.  The position may perform a variety of non-essential functions consistent with the scope and intent of the position.  This position is contingent upon availability of school funds and is a 1.0 FTE assignment.

 

IV.                MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

 

1.       At least 6,000 hours of paid documented occupational work experience in the specific field of video/television production for which certification is sought. 

2.       Willing to fulfill probationary certificate requirements and program for CTE Certification

 

V.            PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

 

1.       One year teaching experience working as a full time certificated employee

2.       Current or recent working with Native Americans or other similar diverse populations

3.        Successful teaching experiences at the secondary level
