Life Threatening Health Conditions
Allergies and Life Threatening Health Conditions
A life-threatening health condition means a condition that will put your child in danger of death during the school day if a medication and/or treatment order and nursing plans are not in place. Medication and treatment orders are required to be completed each school year.
If your child has a life-threatening condition, such as severe food allergies, severe asthma, a bee-sting allergy, diabetes, a seizure disorder or cardiac condition. The school nurse will work with you, and your child’s doctor office to develop an Individualized Healthcare Plan. This plan will help us care for your child’s health needs.
The following are required before your child attends school:
-Healthcare provider orders
-Any necessary supplies and equipment
-Medications that are to be administered at school
-Emergency medications
