Thank you for your interest in enrolling your child(ren) in Chief Leschi Schools. We have many quality offerings for your child that enhance their opportunity to achieve academic success while embracing their Native culture.
Chief Leschi is a Puyallup Tribe as well as a BIE and Grant funded school. Our Enrollment Policy is to grant first priority acceptance to students who are Puyallup Tribal members and those who qualify under the Indian Student Equalization Program (ISEP). In order for your child to qualify under this program, they must be an enrolled member of a federally recognized tribe or provide documentation of American Indian or Alaska Native blood quantum of one quarter (1/4 degree) of Indian decent. Accepted documentation includes a CIB (Certificate of Indian Blood) or parental birth certificates and enrollment cards reflecting the calculated minimum blood quantum descent to your child.
If your child does not qualify under ISEP, but can provide documentation of Native American Indian /Alaska Native descent, please be aware that they will be admitted on a space available basis after ISEP students are accepted.
Upon receiving the application, records will be requested from the previous school (grades and/or transcript, attendance, behavior report, as well as any Special Services if applicable) and your child’s application will be reviewed and considered for enrollment at Chief Leschi Schools. While we will do our best to expedite the process, we ask that you keep your child enrolled in their present school to avoid a gap in the end and start date. This especially pertains to the beginning of the school year.
