Elementary science teacher Natalie Salo took kindergarten scholars on a virtual field trip to the library to see baby alevin salmon. The salmon came from the Puyallup Tribe of Indians Clarks Creek Salmon Hatchery as part of their hatchery program.

This project is part of the Science and Engineering: Natural Resources CTE Pathway in high school that starts with early STEM experiences in elementary STEM programs. Students are more likely to have STEM careers when they are exposed to scientific phenomenon and engineering activities at an early age.
