    Outreach - Family Services offered at Salvation Army - Puyallup Valley Corps

    Description: Provides services to East Pierce County residents. Currently have utilities. May also help with rent. Limited resources, please call to verify Food bank is open M-F 9:30-1:00pm Clients are also encouraged to contact Pierce County Community Connections for the LIHEAP/PSE program first. Puget Sound Energy only provides $300 assistance per household. Availability of Elmhurst funding can change on a daily basis. Currently have Elmhurst funding

    Eligibility: Must live within East Pierce County. Have a final notice for Termination of Service notice from Elmhurst. PSE customers need a copy of the shut-off notice (urgent, final or disconnect) and/or "Assistance Provider" notice. Those on a budget billing plan may also have "Budget Removal" warnings on their bill. Agency needs the notices to provide assistance.

    Intake Process: Drop-in. Call once arriving 253-841-1491

    Required Documents: Documents Required: Food Bank: - Bring ID and - Proof of current address for everyone in the household, including children. Utility Assistance: - Utility disconnect notice, - proof of income (pay stub, award letter, unemployment), - current/valid ID for everyone 17 and older (or photo copies), - everyone in the home needs separate proof of address that has name, address, and is dated within the last 3 months. May also check website for information on needed documentation.
